I wish had an extra set of hands. What parent hasn’t said that? Between work, school, activities, appointments, grocery shopping and outings, I feel like I am stretched pretty thin. I am so thankful that I was recently introduced to Kango. Kango is an amazing service that provides rides for children preschool through high school. Not only do they offer transportation, but they also offer childcare. Kango is the extra set of hands that I have been looking for!

Getting signed up with Kango was an easy process. The app is very user friendly. After registering, it is as simple as tapping on your phone screen to schedule a ride or babysitting. They app lets you know when a driver/sitter has accepted the job and from there you can see who will be driving and/or babysitting your kids. I was surprised that within a minute, a driver had accepted the ride (I removed their full name but normally you have the first and last name of the driver/sitter). There is even a nice reminder of the scheduled services through email and a text message is sent about 30 minutes before the drivers and sitters are scheduled to arrive. The whole process was simple and easy to use.

As a parent, my children’s safety is my top concern. I like knowing that they have an extensive hiring process for both their sitters and drivers: fingerprint clearance card, background check and a DMV check. After sitters and drivers are hired, they complete in person training before they are allowed to start working. The cars and car seats used are also inspected. I also really like that they do not just hire anyone for these jobs, they look for people that have worked with children in the past. Some of their drivers are moms, teachers, nurses, and nannies! Kango does a lot of work to ensure that your children are in great hands.

Another great feature of Kango is that parents can interview their babysitters before allowing them to watch their children. They also allow parents to ride along in the car with their kids. I was able to go on a ride along with one of their drivers and it helped to put my mind at easy knowing that she was a good driver and that my daughter was in good hands! Their app allows you to track the location of the driver, send them a message, and even call them. Then, once you get to know and love a sitter or driver, you can select them for future rides and babysitting services. If you are anything like me and want to have some consistency with your childcare, Kango makes it easy to have that. Kango really does everything to help make you feel comfortable with the people watching your children.
The drivers are equipped with car seats. When you log into the app, you have the option of picking the type of service you need, the type of car seat, and the number of seats needed. They take all of the work out of driving your kids by being prepared and having everything ready to go. I am excited to be able to hire Kango knowing that I don’t need to worry about dealing with the hassles of a car seat.

Arizona is the first state Kango has expanded to and they cover cities extending 20+ miles from downtown.
