I hope the rains aren't too torrential and just enough to encourage us to stay home with our loved ones. Here is a list of 10 activities I've recycled from our last rainfall. Hope you find it useful!
- Build a fort - This is always a great go-to as it can be made with anything in the living room and a few bed sheets.
- Games: Monopoly, sorry, cards, matching game, wii - pull out all you have and make it a marathon game day.
- Crafts: Make a rocket ship out of toilet paper rolls, grab some blank paper and host your own "paint nite." Let the kids get create and guide them with a theme!
- Make Your own drive in- Grab a few of those Amazon boxes and make some cars and put a flick on the living room big screen.
- Go on an indoor scavenger hunt - If you plan it right it may even be a way for them to pick up their toys.
- Bake - It's always a great time to make something fun and the smell of warm bake goods is great on a cloudy day!
- Let them warm up in the bubble bath!
- Clean up their play area - I've noticed whenever I pull out the "tucked away toys" they suddenly become re-engaged so rotate the toys and see what happens.
- Write thank you notes or some snail mail - This is a perfect time to have the kids color a picture or make a note of thanks to new teachers, for bday presents or in advance for the holidays.
- Host your own family story time: Let the kids take turns reading to siblings and friends.
